Orthophthaldehyde based Surface
Cleaner

Contaminated surfaces contribute to the transmission of pathogens, posing infection hazards. Targeted surface disinfection based on a risk profile is seen as an indispensable constituent in a multi barrier approach of universal infection control precautions. Orthophthalaldehyde, C6H4(CHO)2, often abbreviated to OPA is stable in water, even at high alkaline pH values exceeding 11.5. It is however sensitive to UV illumination and air oxidation.

Orthophthaldehyde based disinfectant is a high-level disinfectant for use in reprocessing heat-sensitive medical devices. Provides broad-spectrum activity against bacteria, micobacteria, viruses and fungi. It offers excellent material compatibility, therefore can be used to disinfect a wide range of medical instruments made of aluminum, brass, copper, stainless steel, plastics, elastomers and dental materials.
