Mayuri's RO antiscalant chemicals are specifically formulated as pre-treatment additives to be dosed in feed water to prevent deposition of inorganic scales in RO membranes. Feed water contains salts of calcium, barium, magnesium, strontium in form of carbonates, bicarbonates, sulphates and silicates, which on continuous flow, results in their deposition over membrane surfaces, resulting in decrease in RO membrane efficiency and permeate water quality.
These RO antiscalant chemicals keep RO capacity close to design, and minimizes shutdowns and membrane cleaning cost.
Scaling takes place on RO membranes when the concentration of scale-forming substances exceed their saturation rate, and they produce added solids within the RO feed water. Deposited chemical substances include calcium carbonate, strontium sulphate, calcium sulphate, barium sulphate, and reactive silica.
These substances are found hard to be removed from the membranes owing to their low solubility nature. Scaling decreases the optimal functioning of the membrane, causing frequent cleaning and shutowns. These issues reduce the system productivity.
On application, these antiscalants stabilize metal ions, preventing metal oxides precipitation and dispersing existing metal oxides/ hydroxides, silt and clay particles.
