The operating temperature of a pre-heat exchanger train of a Crude Distillation Unit (CDU) can shoot up to 800°C, minimum being 60°C, good enough for producing and accumulation of fouling materials over process equipment surfaces. If these contaminants are not timely removed, these may adversely affect the efficiency of the heat recovery unit leading to operational halt and reduced production.
Antifoulants are precisely formulated chemicals that can successfully remove dissolved contaminants from water over a wide range of temperatures as well as other operating conditions. These chemicals show efficacious control on formation of organic contaminants as well as is effective over fouling. Regular usage of this formulation reduces the requirement of point to point cleaning. This formulation effectively removes these dissolved alkaline compounds and also inhibit further precipitation of these dissolved salts in the refinery plants and production equipment.
