Mutual Solvent
Ethylene Glycol Mono Butyl Ether (EGMBE)

Mayuri oilfield mutual solvent, based on EGMBE or 2-butoxyethanol, is used as a pre-flush additive during crude well acidizing and stimulation processes. This additive removes as well as prevents the formation of water blocks or emulsion, caused due to ingress of large aqueous molecule containing hydrocarbon. The mutual solvent also ensures preferential wetting up of the formation before, during or after a treatment,

Use of mutual solvent in during well acidizing, especially for sandstone formation, is considered one of the traditional process, and has been providing significant benefit to the treatment process. EGMBE is soluble in both oil and water and is that is why it plays an important role to keep all solids water-wet.

Key Features and Benefits

  • Improves solubility of rust inhibitor in the acid used for well acidizing in the formation
  • Enhances compatibility of inhibitor with demulsifier and other treatment additives
  • Reduces the rate of adsorption of rust inhibitor in residual clay particles in the formation
  • Maintains formation wetting during oil/gas flow post well acidizing
  • Helps in removal of hydrocarbon and mineral scale deposits during, pre / post fluid treatment
